Accurate weight distribution

Articulation aside, the StandInBaby is also realistically weighted at3.1kg, which represents the50th percentilefor newborn babies (normal birth weight is 2.5 to 4kg). This is important, as it allows health professionals who may be inexperienced with babies to become acclimatized to the normal weight of a baby and carry them comfortably when the situation demands it.

Caring for your StandInBaby

Joint Maintenance:  To allow your StandInBaby’s joint to move freely, a clear lubricant has been applied to all joints from factory.  We recommend owners apply a very small amount of lubricant as required to reduce friction in tight joints.

Cleaning: We recommend that you use a clean dampened, soft cloth to wipe your StandInBaby and gently rub the cloth to remove any dirt or grime.  DO NOT use chemicals, bleach or detergents on StandInBaby

Because babies are moving targets, and are often in distress – the posing of the baby requires careful attention and meticulous application of the correct amount of force to ensure that the target (vein, lumbar space, or urethra) is well-defined and devoid of movement. Junior Doctors and Nurses are now presented with the option of posing the StandInBaby to practice and simulate these procedures.

Paediatric nurses and doctors can also practice various poses and capture appropriate posturing with the mannikin that has real-life applications in hospitals."
